On the 13th of April 2021 I was privileged to be interviewed by two spiritual directors in the USA on the subject of clergy and laity. Chris and Maggie are fellow-lay-ministers who regularly produce podcasts. Much recommended.
How important it is to have a good understanding of the Greek words related to priesthood, is illustrated by the following experience. The other day an American bishop wrote something on Facebook regarding the sacrament of ordination. Someone responded that he had a desire to one day become a priest. Neither of them had any clue about Christians being priests already. Either that, or they chose to ignore the fact. In this podcast we explore the origins of the confusion surrounding vocations. And we dwell on the amazing diversity and unity of all spiritual gifts, which should never be reduced to a simple clergy/laity divide.
